In place of the charged particle, electrostatically charged material may be used that is visible with the unarmed eye. Notice the movement of the white little flake inside the ring. <p></p> <p>At the European Centre of Nuclear Research CERN, the Paul trap is also used in order to store electrically charged particles of antimatter.</p>
