Text__hza3oKOcEd-WfYQ0GneCwQ_text=In December 1928, Einstein corresponds with Frida Perlen (1870\u20131933), a staff member of the International Women\u2019s League for Peace and Freedom. In January 1929, this association organizes a congress on the topic \u201CThe Modern Methods of War and the Protection of the Civilian Population.\u201D Einstein is a member of the honorary committee, along with K\u00E4the Kollwitz, Romain Rolland and Bertrand Russell. On a letter directed to him he notes, \u201CFor me, every killing of a human being is common murder, even when it is committed by the state on a large scale.\u201D
