The electromagnetic radiation received by the space probe propagates along straight lines in flat space. In curved spaces the trajectories are curved. Therefore, in elliptical space (<q>closed</q>) the observed areas of different intensity are larger than in flat space (<q>flat</q>), in hyperbolic space (<q>open</q>) they are smaller.
