At the Technische Universit\u00E4t Berlin, Ernst Ruska constructs the first electromagnetic lenses with which electron waves can be bundled. In 1931 he succeeds in producing an image of a wire lattice magnified 16 times. This lens is from the high-resolution electron microscope DEEKO100, which Ruska developed at the Fritz-Haber-Institut.
