== Installation of ArcGIS on a Mac ==

-  Install Oracle VM Virtual-Box (VB) (I use version 3.2.8)
-  Create a virtual disk within VB of at least 20 GB!
-  Create a host on VB, connect with your virtual disk under Storage (Massenspeicher) and include the CD/DVD-ROM
-  If there are more than one CPU-Kernels on your machine, you may designate more than one for the host under System and at least 2GB of memory!
-  Install here Windows (I did XP) , you may define also a common folder (Gemeinsamer Ordner)
-  Start the host '''ones''' in Safe-Mode (while boot, press F8) then install from the Virtual-Box-Menu the Host-Extension (Geräte-Gasterweiterung installieren)
-  Do '''not''' activate the Display-options (Anzeige-Optionen) 3D or 2D-Video ! You will not need it and ArcGIS does not like it!
-  Import all Updates, Servicepacks etc. (it will take several reboots and repeated Windows-Updates!)
-  Install .Net-Framework 3.5 SP1 incl. Updates (.Net-Framework 4 does not work with ArcGIS 10!) 
-  Mount the ArcGISDesktop...iso to the host (select the appropriate *.iso under Storage (Massenspeicher))
-  Install ArcGIS as required
-  Install the ArcGIS-License Manager with the license file
