= Publishing Images as Map =

* Geo-Reference the image (e.g. with QGis: [http://www.digital-geography.com/qgis-tutorial-teil-1-wie-georeferenziere-ich-eine-gescannte-karte-mit-qgis/]) 
  * for this to work one has to activate the GDAL-GeoReference AddOn (Addons->Manage Addons)
  * using WGS84 = EPSG:4326 should be a good choice
* Save this image as GeoTIFF
* Upload the GeoTIFF file to the server (for access see above)
* Publish the new layer [http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/data/raster/geotiff.html]
