  • JW: reimplementation of Donatus & Pollux as web service in eXist
    • Not all Pollux dictionaries are valid XML
      • MS: make sure to have latest version of lexicon, ask Greg Crane to get XML
      • XML was never invalid in old system. Nested G-tags are only for formatting purposes
        • WS: only makes sense if things can be repaired automatically
      • Looking at entries:
        • lacking a tag: comes from old SGML version
          • <p> tags are problematic (milestone tags), <br> tags as well

    • Greek article is not found. Stop word?
      • Possible problem: dump from database
    • Donatus has only one form (esse: edo/ sum)
      • MS: this has to be changed!
    • WS: language codes should be ISO 639-3 rather than ISO 639-2
  • JW: new version of eXist: 1.4
    • Stable release, more performant, more stable
  • WS: variables should not be indexed
    • JW: Depends on the schema version, when is 1.0 released?
      • WS: Version 0.99c is nearly finished, metadata will not change anymore, you can use it
  • JW: another problem: Arabic analyzes only 5%
    • MS: only single characters are analyzed
      • Possible solution: Dictionary is organized by roots
        • Analyzer analyzes to words, should have to be linked to roots
        • MS will work on that
