51 Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (ESA; 16 U.S.C. 1531 et

52 seq .), the regulations governing the taking, importing, and
|
|
53 exporting of endangered and threatened species (50 CFR 222-226), and
|
|
54 the Fur Seal Act of 1966, as amended (16 U.S.C. 1151 et seq .)</p>

55 <p type="2">Applications for Permits Received</p>

56 <p type="1">For Application No. 42-1642, the applicant requests
|
|
57 permission to study metabolic clearance rates of vitamins A and E
|
|
58 using isotope tracers and vitamin analogs in captive Steller sea
|
|
59 lions, relation to various life history stages, establish the
|

60 vitamin A and E status of free-ranging Steller sea lions, determine

61 the metabolic requirements for these vitamins by relating intake to
