Greek Ligatures
The Specs 2.0 contain a list of Greek ligatures in early printed books (unchanged since version 1.1.2). As there are over 500 Renaissance ligatures, we started with a small selection, which will be extended in later versions of the Specs. We will also distinguish more clearly between ligatures and abbreviations.
So far we have used mainly Ingram 1966 and Faulmann 1880 as scholarly sources. In the Specs we have used images from Pappus 1660, the LaTeX Philokalia package, and the Rgreekl2 font (which we made to work on a Mac).
Some existing lists are attached. See also some lists of ligatures and abbreviations with a focus on Byzantine manuscripts here, taken from van Groningen 1940.
